Squire Munro Project

If you are a descendent of Squire Munro (or of a Sisson), you may be a descendent of Munro. There is an article about your "cousin" in the newspaper.

He is looking to add you to his book.

Sisson Family

Hey, Everyone - Especially Lisa!

I have been "collecting" Sisson families and their in-laws for 30 years and more. If you are a Sisson, by blood or by marriage, or descend from one, maybe I have clues to your family or your ancestors. Please write me.
dsisson2@rochester.rr.com. I know a lot about my great-great-grandfather William Sisson, First Judge of Wayne County, NY, and founder of the Sisson family which was in Lyons, Wayne County, NY, from about 1818 till the 1950s.

David Arne Sisson
Here's my ancestry: Richard and Mary Sisson (in New England before 1650), George (their son), Thomas (grandson, etc. for the following guys), William, Nathan, Elisha, William, William Henry, Frank, Fred, me.

Betsy's Our Chamberlain Family

Dear Betsy,

I just started reading your book---I can't tell you how much I am enjoying it. The way you integrated what we told you about the dead folks and getting to know my living relatives a little better is a lot of fun! Now I'm really glad I included to my pie-eating contest awards--otherwise, I wouldn't be able to keep up with my impressive family.

I like the comment about Uncle Lee from one of his students, about Laura's amazing testimonies and Betsy, I can just picture you riding your bike with a basket full of books.
Betty's stories are great too. The magic rolling pin, etc. Does she have an email address?

Did you know that the uncle who was married twice locked the first one up in house and took away her shoes so she wouldn't go out? Apparently she was really beautiful and he was a jealous husband. She eventually escaped and divorced him. Did you leave that out cuz there might be living descendents or because you didn't know? Or maybe Grandma Ida made it up--who knows now! I enjoyed Grandma Ida's bio too--thanks Uncle Lee for writing it. Love her sharp ditch digger comments.

And Betsy, I really like how you did a history timeline--I really got a feel for what was going on when.

I think Uncle Lee, when he gets done with his history of Vitamins book he should just do one on what it's like to travel all over the world. And Suzannah's stories had me laughing the whole time. I haven't read Theresa's story yet--or my mother's! I'm saving those-- I don't want to be finished reading this too soon!

Jonah Hutchins, Suzannah's son, would like me to start a blog (even though he doesn't know what one is). I barely know myself, but I thought for those who want to keep in touch and share websites, pictures, thoughts, memories, advice, etc, it would be fun. I figure I'll start one, invite you, then you give me the emails of other family members who want to join so I can add them as "authors" too. Being an author means you can not only comment (anybody can comment on what we write), but an author can start a new topic.

I'll leave it on search engines in case we have relatives looking for us (so lets not say anything too terrible!).

I will call it the Chamberlain/McDowell/Sisson blog, OK? I can always add a family name if you want to add other relatives that have nothing to do with those names.

I have some good news. My story, "The Hanging of Henry Gale," is being put in the Daughters of the American magazine, "American Spirit," in the March/April 2008 issue. It is all because David Sisson researched that relative who served in the Revolution. Henry Gale was then a leader in Shay's Rebellion. He was set to hang as a traitor, but at the moment of execution, with the noose around his neck, John Hancock gave him a reprieve.

Reading Betsy's book gave me ideas--I'd love to use some of those little anecdotes in a book I'm writing now.

Johan Hutchins has a band and will be performing soon. He has a link with his picture. I hope he adds his link to the blog! I would love to know if any of your kids would like to be added to the "author's" list. I just don't have their emails.
Love Lisa
